Sail the Bahamas
Gun Cay and the Sapona
We spent Tuesday night and Wednesday morning on the east side of Gun Cay. Lots of fishing and some explored the lighthouse. We spent the afternoon diving the wreck of the Sapona. With some stormy weather rolling in, we opted to anchor in the lee of North Bimini for the night. That turned out to … Continue reading
Weather day in Bimini
The wind today (Thursday) was really windy – 25-30 knots, gusting higher. We pulled into port this morning to make the best of it. The boat is in good order for the crossing back to Florida and everyone will have been well fed and well rested.
Tuesday
We delivered all the collected books to the local 7th-12th grade school. We had waffles and sausage for breakfast. We’re preparing to get underway so we can explore reefs and other islands.
Back on Firma Terra

Leaving for the Bahamas TODAY!
Everyone is getting ready! I hope you’re as excited as I am. We’ll stop tonight just past Tallahassee.
Safely and secure just past Tallahassee
We had a fantastic dinner at the Cajun Corner in Marianna, Florida. Everything is homemade there and Wow was it good! We’re at our destination for the night. We have a happy crew!
Excited to be in Ft. Lauderdale
We had a great day on the road. We swam at Fanning Springs, ate at Canoe Creek Service Plaza on the Florida Turnpike. Went to Divers Direct and Bass Pro Shop. And killed the credit card at the grocery store. We’re up too late munching on White Castle burgers.
Safely crossing
We had a brisk sail across the Gulf Stream and are now anchored at Bimini. All is well.
A great day in Bimini

The captain went ashore to clear Immigration and Customs while the rest of the crew got everything on the boat in order. Soon after he returned, we … Continue reading
